Bathroom Cleaning Shortcuts that Can Save You Time

What’s not to enjoy about having a clean house?  It looks, smells, and feels better, and you don’t have to sweat the small stuff – you know, like a friend or neighbor unexpectedly stopping by.

Still, there’s the act of cleaning itself, especially the more time and labor-intensive chores like cleaning your bathroom. But if the end result could be every bit as dazzling without having to spend quite as much time achieve that result?  Would you want to know more?

Who wouldn’t!  So here you go:  three bathroom cleaning shortcuts that rearttrtrtlly work.

Always be Prepared

Designate a place in or near your bathroom to stock cleaning supplies like microfiber cloths, glass cleaner, tub and tile cleaner, and anything else you might need. You’ll be more likely to wipe down the sink after you brush your teeth if you don’t have to go far to fetch the spray bottle and cloth.

Two Birds, One Stone

Many disinfectants and cleaning products work best when given the time to “sit”, which also means less time spent scrubbing.  So make the most of your time in the bathroom by spraying down the shower walls and let the cleanser do its thing while you take a shower which serves also to finish the cleaning job you started earlier.  Next, you can remove grime and mineral deposits from your shower head by filling a plastic bag with vinegar and securing it around the shower head with an elastic band. Leave it on overnight, then rinse and wipe clean in the morning.  Here’s another time saver:  prevent ring-around-the-bathtub by wiping down the tub with a terrycloth towel after each use.

Clear the Decks

No matter how long you scrub the bathtub or polish the fixtures, a bathroom won’t look or feel clean if the counter is cluttered and your floor is a mess. So first, make it a habit to keep your vanity counter, toilet tank lid, and other surfaces clear of accumulated “stuff”.  Put skin and hair care products away after each use, pick up items off the floor, and refold hand and bath towels. Next, and anytime you have an extra minute, go over the floor with a handheld vacuum to pick up hair, dust bunnies, and dirt. When it comes to mop the floor, the job will prove be a lot easier.
